Dr. Xakarai… no wonder that voice sounded so familiar… but why would he be here? What is the connection… Chiwi thought to herself, refusing to let her surprise in the matter show.
Seething at this revelation, Chiwi hissed. Such a betrayal would not go unforgotten; she would make sure that he paid for this. Raving angrily, Chiwi threatened him, “You won’t get away with this! I’ll make sure everyone finds out what you’re up to, Xakarai!! You’ll have no where to run, nothing left!”
Another doctor approached her, making a single incision on her wrist with a scalpel. Her panic rapidly increasing, Chiwi yelled some more, telling them to leave her alone and that she needed to be released. Though Chiwi could not determine their purpose, a small vial of orange liquid was placed against her wrist, turning to orange after only a moment. “Stop this! Right now! What did I ever do to you?! I don’t deserve this!” Chiwi ranted. Then came the green tube, disappearing into her bloodstream. Even though she had worked for quite some time in the hospital, she had never seen anything quite like the vials, which only incremented her anxiety.
"Shall we inject the Dark serum now, sir? Or do we wait?"
"Wait. The pain killers aren't active yet. Once they are, then you may inject them. Give them about 5 minutes."
"Yes sir."
The conversation swirled around her, and Chiwi became alarmed. Thrashing around, Chiwi raged violently against those who held her prisoner. The desperation of her situation hit her, and tears threatened to overwhelm her. Biting her lip, she refused to let them come, and resorted to shouting even louder and flailing wildly as best as she could.
However, her time quickly expired and the assistant approached her again emptying the Dark serum into her veins.
Letting out a sharp gasp, Chiwi felt her world suddenly descend into sheer agony.
All of a sudden, it felt as though little needles were tearing into every inch of her skin, which felt as if it had caught on fire. Her vision blurred over; whether it was from the pain or the drugs, she could not tell, but everything swam before her, making her nauseated. Chiwi squeezed her eyes shut, and let out a shrill shriek that did not seem to belong to her. It was much higher pitched and inhuman sounding.
Her heart pounded with such ferocity, Chiwi thought it might try to leap out of her chest as she gasped for air with increasing difficulty. Squirming around like a nest of snakes, her insides felt as though someone had twisted a knife in them and they were trying to escape. Her body seized and her back arched in agony as she let out another terrified scream.
“I told you it would be worth it, didn’t I? You really should have more faith in my decisions. Its not as easy a transformation, but it will be worth it in the end,” Said doctor Xakarai said with a cold disinterest for his subjects’ pain.
His counterpart, with a disgusted look on his face, only grunted in response, but even this small reply was lost in the noise of the lab.
Her hair color changed to a strange dark brown that, when the light caught it just right, it shone with a bring gold. The keratin of Chiwi’s toenails thickened and took over her toes, becoming long and sharp, with a large curve. As she arched her back, her toenails dug into the metal, with a loud screech. Her fingernails also thickened and grew long and sharp, with a wicked curve. As she clawed at her restraints, Chiwi clumsily clawed herself as well, howling in agony. Her two canine teeth become slightly curved and sharper, giving the appearance of a vampire’s teeth.
Suddenly, Chiwi’s back exploded in pain, and she almost forgot about everything else. In two long, parallel lines down her back, it felt as though someone had stuck a blade as deep as they could get it and pulled it slowly down her back. Her bones cracked and crunched as the rearranged themselves painfully, and Chiwi began to feel something growing, emerging from each of these two areas. Two large, golden brown wings emerged, but Chiwi could not stretch them out, for her bonds were too tight, which brought even more pain.
Pulling against her bonds, she felt them bend with a new found strength, twisting against her force. Gathering her strength, Chiwi pulled he right hand free. Sitting up a little, she ripped free of the left one, and turned her gaze to the doctors gathered before her. Her now amber eyes carried none of the fear which filled her, just a cold, animalistic presence. The same presence filled her mind, urging her to get rid of the creatures that were before her, because they were a threat to her territory.
“Call security!” Doctor Xakaria shouted as his dumbfound cohorts. They scrambled to comply, rushing to stay out of Chiwi’s path, as she yanked her legs free.
Letting out another shrill shriek, she lunged forward, clawing her hands towards Doctor Xakarai, but her center of gravity had changed, and she misjudged the effort it would take her. She looked up at him and, before she moved, hissed, “Xakarai, for this you will pay.” Lunging forward again, she felt a sharp pain in her ribs, where one of the other doctors had kicked her. Turning on them, she swung wildly, knocking him over.
Jumping on top of the other doctors, she seethed at him, “You will NOT stand between me and my prey.” Grabbing him around his throat, the man’s terrified scream was soon cut short by her talon fingertips.
With the other man’s blood running from her forearms to fingertips, Chiwi suddenly stared at her hands in horror, as if she had just realized what she had done. Shaking she screamed at Doctor Xakarai, “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!!?!”
Security finally arrived, forcing her to the ground, but Chiwi still raved in the horror of what had happened to her and what she had done to the man. “TELL ME WHAT YOU DID TO ME!!!” Chiwi half-screamed, half-pleaded with Xakarai, tears flowing freely down her face.
With a wicked, small smile, Xakarai quietly told her, “Science. We did science.”

As all the commotion began in the depths of the research facility, six modified humans began reforming on the cliff shielding the desolate area. Two had already reformed at the base of the cliff and immediately began running toward the facility to fulfill the mission they were assigned. Another had reformed on one of the ledges, arms crossed as she waited for her partner to show up. He showed up in a matter of seconds and together they too took off toward the southern entrance of the building.
Aurele stood still atop the cliff, looking around for Railet who was taking much longer to reform for some reason. When he found him, he was standing on one of the ledges, looking rather confused and agitated. Aurele figured that he was just waiting for the chance to tear something apart and was merely annoyed by the fact that he had to wait for Aurele to go with him. Without a word, he jumped down next to him, motioning toward the building.
"We're going in through the northern entrance. Up there." he said, pointing at one of the windows that led to a higher level. He looked back at Railet, the corners of his mouth drooping downward into a thin frown.
"Once inside, you know I'll have to bind you.....Right?" he mentioned, waiting for a response. Railet stayed silent, taking in all the information. He looked away and gave a brief nod of acknowledgment before beginning the descent of the cliff. Aurele followed solemnly, thinking of the past rescue missions and wondering how many survived this time. As they approached a few guards attempted to stop them but quickly lost consciousness once they met Railet. They stopped in front of the wall, looking up at how high the window was.
"Hey....How much weight can you carry?" Railet spoke suddenly, startling Aurele. He paused before responding,
"Well, I suppose I'd be able to carry anything my weight for a minute or so. "
"Think a minute is long enough to get up there?"
"....It....should be...Why?.. What are you planning?" Aurele questioned, looking at Railet's face to try and decipher his plan but to no avail. His face showed no emotion other than agitation. He looked up as Railet pointed to a small office window.
"You've got wings. If you can carry us up there, then infiltrating the place would be easier.....Or if I'm too heavy, you go up there by yourself and I'll make my way through the front." Railet suggested. Aurele nodded, tapping on his ear for his monitor to show up.
"...Let's go with the second option. I know for a fact that I couldn't carry you up there. So...I'm going to go ahead and bind you down now...Sorry." He finished, typing in some commands, looking up as Railet turned his back toward him and placed his arms behind his back much in a straight jacket fashion. Aurele sighed, watching as the command imputed causes his arms to go rigid behind him for a certain amount of time. It was during this time that Aurele placed all the precautions. Handcuffs, chains, ties on the straight jacket. Every precaution was taken into account.
"There. You're all set. If you find anyone, take them with you until you find another member of the team.....And...Don't kill anyone." Aurele said, starting to walk toward the building, stopping and turning to look at him over his shoulder. Railet simply nodded, backing up so he'd have enough running distance to fault over the gate. Before Aurele could say anything else, Railet had already begun running and was now vaulting over the gate. He shouted out just before he disappeared from sight,
"Mission...START!"
After a few minutes of mercilessly beating down any guards that came his way, Railet found his way into the building. Quietly, he spoke so that the receiver in his ear would transmit to Aurele.
"Which way." he grumbled, glaring at his surroundings.
A cracked voice came back through the receiver, "The nearest lab is down the hallway to your right. Most of the patients have then escaped that area, but I'm getting readings that there's still one there. Go check that place out first."
"Understood." he replied, taking off in the assigned direction. It took a while before he reached the lab, running past it two times too many. Finally, he walked into the lab cautiously, standing up fully when he saw that there was no longer anyone in there. The only life sign was that of Ken, who was hopelessly cowering under the desk. As Railet looked around the room for clues as to where they might've gone too, he noticed simple things. The room smelled of blood and death, probably from the dead guard with the snapped neck laying on the floor in a heap. Shaking his head, he finally left the room, and traveling back to the main hallway. He stopped just short of the corner, hearing voices. It sounded like two females, but he couldn't be too sure in this insane place.
Silently he peaked around the corner, immediately spotting two girls. One had wings that were stained with blood though still a golden brown color. Her hair was long, to the middle of her back and shone a gold color, much like the color of her wings, in the facility's florescent lighting. The girl she was talking to was taller than her, and seemed to be of a tiger breed, but her strain was different. Her hair was a pale white, a stark contrast to the golden color the other girl had. He hadn't been listening, not like he really cared what they had to say, but he did notice the frantic tone in their voices. They were panicked, and who could blame them?
He began to walk out into the open, but stopped when he inhaled a new scent. He kneeled down, looking around suspiciously, then he noticed him. It was another guard, armed with a paralyzing rifle. He gave this guard some credit, he was approaching the girls through their blind spot. However, it was his job to protect these two even though they didn't know him and he didn't know them. He got up quickly, dashing forward to hit the wall as he adjusted his body so the center of gravity would be parallel to the floor as he ran two steps on the wall, enough to vault off and hit the guard squarely in the face, plainly knocking the guy unconscious....and missing some teeth.
He turned, and watched as the two girls jumped away from him in fear. He was quite used to that reaction, as he gave off this aura that frightened even the strongest people at the school. He leans closer toward the tiger girl, not saying anything before he leaned back. He opened his mouth to say something, just as Aurele dashed around the corner, running up to him and kicking him squarely in the face as well. Except, unlike the guard, Railet kept his balance, and was barely moved. It was at this moment that Aurele realized...that he had just kicked his partner who already had the situation under control.
"Err....Sorry...heh heh..." he laughed nervously, inching away from Railet, who merely turned his head back to the default position with a loud crack. It was at this point that both girls got a clear view of both boys. Railet however was not interested in further observations and tuned his gaze to the floor, which was apparently more interesting to him than anything else.
Railet was tall, the tallest in the little group that had amassed in that hallway. He was dreadfully skinny, but filled out in the right areas. He had a very handsome face, with a strong chin line. His hair which was a mixture of black and orange strands hung loosely around his ears, pulled back into a ponytail.
"Ah! Guess you two are the last of the people brought here... I know it's unfair of me to ask you to trust us, but we're here to rescue those that are subjects here.. Let's get out of here and discuss this further." Just as Aurele had finished that sentence, Railet immediately began walking past the girls and toward the door, round housing another guard that came toward them. From here, everyone behind him could clearly see the binding he was in, and could tell that it had to be painful.
After a brief discussion, Aurele activated the transporter and sent the four of them back to the school....

“Dr. Jun!” Zairu snarled at the woman, who looked at her as if she was no longer human. In fact, Zairu didn’t feel human at all at the moment. Everything was sharper, more defined, to her eyes. Her nose was picking up on the smells of blood, fear…and regret? Since when did intangible feelings have a smell? But they were there, and Zairu couldn’t ignore them! The worst of them was the hunger; she was looking at the corpse of the guard with a newfound interest, as if she were deciding what to eat first before his body became cold. Horrified by these new thoughts, she directed her attention back at the woman who had been her mentor.
“Why, Dr. Jun!? I thought…you knew what they were going to do!” She shouted, but Dr. Jun only looked at her with a cold expression. No…the doctor was only doing her job…was doing what the Noikero Company wanted her to do. However, that didn’t stop Zairu for feeling betrayed, for wanting to put her hands around that damn woman’s throat and strangle her! She wanted to see the woman’s blood flow and the life die from her eyes!
“You betrayed me! You bitch!” Zairu roared, lunging at the three that were standing at the far end of the room, “I’ll kill you all! I’ll rip your damn limbs off and watch you die!”
She heard the gun click as the man put his finger on the trigger to fire, but she didn’t care. She didn’t care if she died as long as she took them down with her!
She stopped short as she heard a girl’s voice screaming. Zairu knew that voice…had heard that scream coming from herself just moments before…
Zairu’s blood ran cold as the puzzle was fitted together within those few seconds.
“Chiwi!” She spun on her heels, launching herself at the door. The three, having their lives spared, were taking the opportunity to flee to a door opposite of the one Zairu currently was throwing her body weight against. With a newfound strength, she ripped door open after a few moments of it squeaking protest. Zairu didn’t marvel at this new strength, instead tearing down the hallway to where she heard her friend’s desperate cries.
Oh please…please don’t be dead! Zairu thought, hanging onto the one thing that made sense in this whole dilemma. She had come here with Chiwi, and she was darn well going to leave with her. Everything was pandemonium; alarms were going off and there were many different screams coming from all directions. At first, Zairu thought that it was all because of her escaping, but a few people passed her without so much as a glance, clearly terrified of something else. Words like ‘broken in’ and ‘group operation’ entered her mind, but the sounds she was really listening for where that of her friend.
Another scream signaled that she had come across the right door and she pounded frantically on the door. The sounds were too loud, the air tasted rancid, and the lights were driving her closer and closer to completely losing herself in the chaos. Finally bursting the door in, she found something she hadn’t been prepared to see.
Her friend Chiwi was covered in blood, but that wasn’t what she was drawn to. Chiwi’s hair had become tinted with gold and enormous wings had erupted from her back, stained with blood. Zairu looked at a lump that was a former guard, herself being guiltily reminded that she had also taken a life, and her mouth dropped open when she saw the doctor standing nearby.
“Dr. Xarkai!?” She shouted, “You were in on it, too!?”
Zairu hadn’t felt this betrayed in so long, and its knife was plunging deeper into her heart. Next they would be finding out that their parents had condoned this butchery to their children! Dr. Xarkai only looked at her with the same cold, calculating look that Dr. Jun had cast upon her and she was filled with rage once again. This primal urge to see blood, and to be the reason of it, was slowly latching further into her brain. Her vision was becoming tinged with red on the sides, but Zairu shook her head vigorously and forced it back.
“Chiwi!” She grabbed onto her friend’s arm, though she had to avoid the wings that seemed to have a mind of their own at the moment. Zairu could see the confusion and rage mirrored on the other young woman before her. They were in no shape for anything at the moment, but to get away. That was sending off sirens in her head to flee and get away from this place as soon as possible.
“Come on! Let’s get out of here!” Zairu tugged on Chiwi’s arm and began to sprint out of the room, leaving the doctor to look at their retreat. He would pay, she thought vehemently, just like Dr. Jun.
Stopping in a main hallway, Zairu looked around frantically to see which way to go now. They were in a honeycomb of hallways and Zairu didn’t want to run into one, only to find them grabbed once again and subjected to more painful procedures.
“Which way do we go?” Zairu looked at her friend, showing the vulnerability she refused to show anyone else. She was unsure and frightened. Chiwi was the only person she trusted right now.
“What have they done to us? Why did they do this!? Dammit!” She spun around in vain, as if somehow spinning would make the way they should go clearer.
Both she and Chiwi tensed up suddenly, a sixth sense suddenly screaming at them that they were in danger. What happened next, Zairu had to rethink about later; a man with a rifle had been about to fire on them when another man had leapt forward and kicked the guard squarely in the face. She was still fearful, prone to lash out even though he had just saved them from being shot. But who was to say that he wasn’t just going to take them in himself? So when he turned to face them, Zairu understandably jumped back, looking very frightened. It didn’t hurt that he was giving off a very intimidating aura that left Zairu feeling like a defenseless child. She tensed as he leaned forward towards her, opening his mouth that held canines like her and Chiwi now. Still, he didn’t do anything threatening, instead leaning backwards as if to say something. However, whatever he was going to say was stopped short when another man came flying into the scene and kicked the other in the same manner the guard had taken. Zairu looked wide-eyed, her mouth slightly open at the scene before her. That guy…had taken a direct hit…and had hardly moved!
However, this gave Zairu ample time to quickly survey the two men in front of her. One had wings, with blond hair, and had a bit of an accent. Where he was from, she couldn’t tell since the only word mentioned was ‘sorry’, followed by nervous laughter at having hit his partner, but then Zairu could understand from the way his black-haired friend just turned his head back with a loud crack and then proceeded to look at the floor. No, she corrected herself; his hair had streaks of orange, tied back, with tiger ears making it distinctly known that he had tiger DNA within him. He was also very tall, something Zairu wasn’t too familiar with since she usually was one of the tallest people. He made her feel slightly short. If they hadn’t been in such a predicament, Zairu may have even seen that they were pretty cute, but then she wasn’t the judging type when it came to the opposite sex.
"Ah! Guess you two are the last of the people brought here... I know it's unfair of me to ask you to trust us, but we're here to rescue those that are subjects here.. Let's get out of here and discuss this further." She was snapped from her observations when the blond-haired man said this, and was drawn to look at the other as he passed by them without so much of a glance. It was then she noticed the bindings that were on his arms, seeing how they contorted when another guard came in their direction and he dispatched him pretty quickly. She frowned slightly; it had to be painful, so why in the world was he tied up in such a way? Looking back at the other man, it was quite apparent that this was not a new thing, which only made it more curious to her.
Still, she nodded towards the blonde slowly. They were like her and Chiwi right now…and she desperately wanted to get away from this place. Though this wasn’t a real basis for trust, Zairu wanted to believe that they were trying to help. Didn’t hurt that they kept running into guards that were soon left with a sever concussion and broken teeth. These two men seemed the most safest of anything right now. Still, Zairu nearly lost control when the blonde-haired man started up a transporter and they were whisked away. She had only heard about these, never been in one, so was a little nervous that she might end up getting splinched or switching body parts with someone.
When they finally reached their destination, Zairu gave out a panicked gasp and started checking herself for a third arm or a missing limb, and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw everything was as it should be. Finally taking in her surroundings, she was at a lost as to what to say. They were in a building, that much was certain, but where was an entirely different story.
“Where….exactly are we?”

Aurele gave a heavy sigh, quickly noticing Railet's dark behavior. Despite the fact that Railet gave off an intimidating aura, he was in fact rather shy around others. So the new company was....rather upsetting.
It took a few minutes escorting the last of the subjects outside, guards blazing around the facility in an attempt to reclaim the subjects for a spot of glory. However, their dreams of grandiose glory were abruptly interrupted by the sole of Railet's shoe grinding into their face with enough force to send them flying. He was quickly getting agitated and it wasn't long before he would snap and require a stronger inhibitor.
For a while it seemed clear, quiet enough to hear their footsteps crunching on crumpled leaves left over from the past fall, a strange occurrence as the season was spring. Railet stopped, knowing that Aurele would stop at least a foot away and keep the two from coming any closer, which he did. Had Railet not been bound he would've made a symbol for them to stay there, but he decided to make do with his available options.
"Stay here." he spoke, his voice deep with a dark air to it. He paused, turning to look back at them over his shoulder, "Give me....5 minutes... At most." He finished, walking backward two steps before running forward five and pushing down on the ground with great force. The force sent him flying over the gate where 5 guards were waiting. Without much thought, he landed on the back of the nearest guard, alerting the others to his presence. They amassed him immediately, but quickly found that his modifications made it nearly impossible to defeat him by normal means. Two guards pulled out their rifles, ready to shoot. It wasn't until they looked into the viewfinder that they realized he was no where in sight. Looking down, one noticed him crouched on the floor beneath his rifle, with a dark smirk on his face. He kicked upward, landing a hit just beneath the guard's chin, knocking him unconscious. Two down, three more to go. This was taking too long he realized, proceeding to perform three well-placed kicks to knock them out.
Sighing, he walked up to the gate looking at the area around it for a panel or something to open it. He soon found a panel, but sighed again realizing he couldn't just push the buttons when his arms were tied back. Silently, he walked over to a nearby rock, using it to provide enough lift to jump over the gate with little effort. He walked back up to the group, keeping a good two feet of distance between them. He looked at Aurele for a minute, before glancing over at the two girls. The smaller one with wings shouldn't be too heavy, but it wasn't like she knew how to fly with those new wings of hers. Surely Aurele could carry her over the gate. But the other one.... Railet paused, staring at Zairu as he tried to calculate how heavy she was. Probably not much heavier than her friend, but probably heavy enough that it would be a problem for Aurele to carry her.
"Aurele." he spoke suddenly, shattering the silence. Inwardly he marveled at how all three of them jumped in unison.
"Ah... What's up? You got a plan?" Aurele spoke, recovering from the slight shock of Railet's voice and how his aura leaked into it.
"You carry the small one over the gate. She shouldn't be...too heavy. The other...." He paused, staring at Zairu "Can jump over. I'll be a stepping stool if necessary."
He watched as Aurele nodded, preparing Chiwi for the lift and flying over the gate and safely away from the guards should any awake. Railet took one last glance at Zairu, watching as she flinched under his gaze. He walked up to the gate, kneeling down so she would be able to easily stand on his shoulders. Despite the fact that it was uncomfortable, and she slipped a few times, her feet precariously landing on his hand or arm. But once she had situated herself, he slowly stood up, allowing her ample time to straighten herself and jump over the gate. Once she had gone over, he jumped over as well and the group was complete.
They walked for a bit, with Railet leading in case of attack. They stopped at the base of the cliff, as Aurele activated the transfer protocol to bring them back. Railet kept his back to the group, never looking at either of them during the whole sequence. However, it wasn't long before he was disassembled like the others.
Immediately following reformation, Railet was the first one out of the chamber. He had no time for babysitting newcomers, that was Aurele's job. The three were able to see by that time, Aurele sighing in disappointment as his partner left.
"Well. Now that we're completely reformed, I'd like to welcome you. To Siren."

Post by Chiwi on Oct 28, 2007 0:22:09 GMT -5
At the doctor’s snide remark, Chiwi felt herself temporarily lose grip on her sanity. Such a disregard for the lives for others, especially of hers and her friend’s, Chiwi found to be nigh on unforgivable.
However, she found she was not the only one, as a resounding bellow echoed about the room from one of the other patients, who was just managing to get free from their bonds as well. The other one jumped through the air, tackling one of the security guards, which allowed Chiwi to free herself enough to be able to take on the other one with ease. Instead of killing him though, Chiwi was of sound enough mind that she instead hit him with all the force she could manage, which would be enough to knock him out for at least an hour.
At the outburst of the patients, Dr. Xakaria saw it fit to flee the room, though Chiwi and her cohort did not pursue him. Instead, without a word to each other, they began assisting the other patients in freeing themselves, most of who bolted without a second thought or a thank you, though Chiwi could hardly blame them. When they were finished, the one who had been assisting Chiwi nodded to her in gratitude and left.
Walking into the hallway herself, Chiwi caught sight of Dr. Xakarai, who was looking at the scene before him with a twisted smile, walking casually from the scene, up a nearby flight of stairs.
Letting out a furious scream, Chiwi took a few angry steps towards him before shouting, “Betrayer! You will pay for this! This whole company will!”
Suddenly, a door burst open with a resolute CLANG and Chiwi thought her heart might burst from joy when she saw her friend Zairu emerge. However, it was far from the Zairu she had remembered. Her friend’s hair was white, and her skin covered in strange patterns. Her ears were now fuzzy and further up her head, and a bloody, swishing tale had also emerged. Chiwi stared in open shock, and Zairu returned the favor. Chiwi sorrowfully recalled the death of the scientist, looking down at her own blood-covered body, and realized that this, more than anything else at this point, was probably the worst.
Despite her friend’s change in outward appearance, Chiwi was greatly relieved to find someone she knew in such a dismal place.
When her friend realized that Dr. Xakarai had been in on it too, Chiwi almost instantly realized that Dr. Jun must have also been in on it. In a whirling sea of revelations, Chiwi felt so intensely betrayed, she wondered if she could trust even Rukino, or her parents any more. The whole reason that her and Zairu had even gotten the time off to go on their excursion was so that they could become some cruel creation of the company’s. Her whole world was coming apart at the seams, and sitting at the center, unraveling it all, was the damnable Noikero Company.
As Zairu reigned in her anger, Dr. Xakarai vanished up the staircase, an sinister smile still playing across his lips. Silently, Chiwi sworn that when they met again, and she would make sure that they did, she would make him pay for his actions on this day.
Chiwi tried to pull her wings out of Zairu’s way as her friend grasped her arm, but Chiwi had yet to get the mechanics of her wings down, and almost clipped her friend in the head. After a minute, she just gave up trying to move them and found that they folded themselves inward for the most part when she wanted them to be at rest. Chiwi felt fatigue beginning to set in, and found herself in agreement with Zairu’s plan to bail.
The pair tried to find their way through the labyrinth of hallways, but was not having much luck. Coming to a halt in what seemed to be the main hallway, Zairu looked at Chiwi, and asked, “Which way do we go?”
Looking down several of the hallways, Chiwi noticed how much better her sight had become. She could see hundreds of feet farther than she ever could before, and everything, even things that were up close, were exceptionally clear. Before, in her rage and struggles, Chiwi had not noticed such a changer in her perception. However, all the halls seemed to be the same to her, because she did not know what she was looking for.
Shrugging, she turned to her friend, “Really, I have no idea… do you know which way the other sub… the other ones like us ran? At least if we went with them, and we wouldn’t be alone… and we might actually… make it out of this place… alive…” Chiwi articulated slowly, the reality of her situation sinking in. Zairu’s fear reflected in her eyes, and Chiwi opened her mouth to reply, but suddenly felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up and she looked around franticly.
Out of the corner of her eye, Chiwi sensed some unusual movement and when she twisted her head to see what it was, she saw one of the guards, with a rifle in his hands, pointed straight at the pair. Opening her mouth, Chiwi tried to get out a warning, but could not.
Instead, before she could say a word, an orange blur zipped onto the scene, vaulted off the wall, and kicked the man in the head. Her eyes wide, Chiwi could not help but stare as what looked to be a tiger and a man approached her friend and her. As he started towards them, Chiwi could not help but jump a little, even though she could tell he meant them no harm. Getting close to Zairu, the boy seemed like he wanted to say something, but before he could, another person came flying out, kicking him in the face.
However, Chiwi was even more shocked because this time, unlike the last, the orange one did not fall to the ground or even seem to flinch. The second one, who had blonde hair, seemed to almost immediately regret his action, and apologized and moved away from the orange one, as if he felt threatened. Cracking his neck back into place, the first one did not reply, and just looked at the floor with sudden interest.
Now that she had a chance to look at the pair, Chiwi realized that the first one’s hair was a mixture of black and orange, with black markings across his skin, not unlike Zariu’s. His ears, which were on the top of his head, were definitely tiger ears, which made Chiwi have to hold back a childish giggle and the urge to pet them and see how soft they were. Also, the boy was very taller, even taller than her friend Zairu, who was quite tall, gender aside.
The other boy had wings as well, and blond, curly hair, with a strange accent to his words. Simply by the way he moved, Chiwi could tell that he was not from the area, but she thought he looked like a nice person. At least, he acted a lot friendlier than the orange-and-black one.
Though the pair claimed that it would be unfair for Chiwi and Zairu to trust them, Chiwi had already decided that they were a much safer bet that the others, simply because they looked to have undergone the same hell.

Zairu was getting very agitated; her ears hurt from all the noise that seemed to be magnified even at a distance that would normally be dull to her, eyes were straining for all the hidden dangers, and the continuous attacks from guards trying to get them back was positively nerve-wracking. To make matters worse, she and Chiwi were with two strange men that who knows if they weren't going to do something worse to them!? To put it simply, Zairu was completely on alert and extremely stressed out.
She would trust these two for now, but if they tried anything she would be quick to defend herself and her friend. Chiwi seemed more at ease with the two, but then Chiwi was more trusting than Zairu. Sure, she liked to give people the benefit of the doubt, but presently the events unfolding were making old memories resurface. The bird-boy seemed friendly enough; it was the tiger-boy that made Zairu more wary. In a fight, seeing in how he dispatched his opponents, he would have the advantage since it looked like he had taken martial arts training. All Zairu had was street smarts and her own fighting style that was more street brawl than anything. For that, Zairu had to respect him in using only the necessary amount of force to knock them out. However, it was becoming evident that he was getting more and more annoyed and judging from his friend's expression, this was not a good thing.
Staying behind the blonde-haired one, she and Chiwi were surprised when he stopped. Zairu opened her mouth to ask why they had stopped when the other spoke, causing her to shut her mouth. His voice sent a shiver down her spine because of the dark tinge it held, though she had to admit it suited him...though the dark tinge could be left out if possible. Something about giving him five minutes registered into her mind before he disappeared from view, followed by evident sounds of fighting.
He only seemed to have been gone for a minute before he was back, staying a good distance away from them. He seemed to be watching them, going from his partner, to Chiwi, and finally to her. She did her best to keep her gaze steady, but it was quite unnerving when he was leaking a murderous aura and was standing very still. So, it was a quite normal reaction for her to jump when he called for his partner, Aurele. If the circumstances had been difference, she might have started laughing because of the silmultaneous reaction from Chiwi and Aurele.
She raised an eyebrow when he talked about Chiwi not being too heavy so could be flown over, but she jumping over. She could not help but wonder if he calling her fat? Him staring at her revealed nothing. Shaking her head briskly, berating herself for thinking such a trivial thought at this time, she watched as Chiwi was picked up and flown over, leaving her alone with this guy.
She flinched when he looked at her; what had she done? He kept looking at her and she wondered if she had offended him when they had first met. As he turned around and made it evident she was to get on his back, she had to mentally prepare herself to get close to him. Zairu had good reason, seeing as how he had distanced him and them up till now.
"S...Sorry." Zairu felt she had to say as she tried getting onto his shoulder. Cursing lightly under her breath, she kept apologizing as she slipped and hit his arm or hand, which seemed to take up the entireity of his back. Finally, she was stable on his shoulders and was able to keep that balance as he stood up. Looking at the wall, she swallowed, wondering if she was going to even clear the wall. Taking a deep breath, she finally launched off and marveled at the way she seemed to sail over the wall.
The marvel soon was brushed off when she hit the ground and her legs collapsed from under her.
"Whoah..." She breathed, looking up the two, though she gave a light glare at Chiwi who was stifling laughter at seeing her friend on the ground, "Oh, shut up, bird-girl."
She got up, brushing the dirt off as the tiger-boy landed nearby. Not another word was said as they made their way away from the building, though they never put their guard down. Finally stopping at the base of a cliff, Zairu couldn't breathe as they were transported to some other place. The tiger-boy quickly left, much to the dismay of Aurele, who introduced the place as Siren.
"Siren?" Zairu said, the first thing after arriving, curiosity wavering on fear, "What the heck...is Siren?"

Aurele paused, turning to look at Zairu who had asked a question he was quite familiar with. He smiled, walking forward and looking back to make sure the two of them followed him out of the transporter room. He stopped in the hallway just outside of the room, a rather large hallway with walls of a blue color with green lines swerving around it in a pattern, resembling a computer circuit. Each green line pulsed a brighter green for a second as the light traveled down the circuit. Several of these lights would go through the walls at the same moment, giving off a green glow as they were accompanied by white lights which were hidden in the roof but shown through. A few halves walked by, some recognizable as a certain animal, others completely out there.
"Siren is an institution for Halves. People like you and me who were experimented on. This is our Safe Haven until we can be returned to normal. Come, I'll give you the tour and show you your rooms." Aurele spoke, taking a right and walking down the hallway. As he explained, he pointed out directions to certain rooms, study areas, libraries, and several other places. He continued to lead them but suddenly stopped.
"Ah...I think perhaps we should go this way instead." he voiced, pointing to his left. But at that point it was too late.
A body hit the wall nearby Aurele, male with blonde hair. This male was apparently mixed with a Terrier and his ears twitched as he got up. He was growling, and when he spoke his voice had a tinge of a bark to it.
"Was that it?! Pathetic! I thought they tied you up for a reason! But now I see you're just a worthless reject!" he shouted out. It was confusing why he was shouting seeing as he was the only one visible in the hall at that point. But that soon changed.
Railet bounded over the corner, arms pressing fiercely against his bindings. His eyes were wide, and a disturbing smirk lay on his face as he tore through the fabric holding him back, the chains that were attached rattling in agony as those too were torn apart. For a minute or so, it seemed the only sound was that of metal pieces hitting the floor with a light clank, magnified by everyone's abnormal sense of sound. The chains hitting the floor had been enough of a distraction that the next sound was a loud yelp of pain and what sounded like a bone breaking. As everyone turned their attention to the new male, some nearly fainted. Quite a crowd had gathered, and some looked upon the scene in fright while others had a mixture of emotions on their face.
The new male, was pinned onto the ground, Railet's foot on his back. Railet was hunched over, his wrist that of his victim, dislocating his shoulder and snapping his arm. All the while, he had an insane grin on his face, the dark aura of his growing larger by the second. When he looked up at the crowd, most flinched and some in the back had even begun to run away. His grin widened, dropping the boy's arm before picking him up by the collar. Railet sneered before tossing the boy aside against the wall rather violently. As the crowd began to move away, two others walked into the small clearing and were quickly dealt with. Just as Railet was about to snap the last boy's neck, three characters wearing all black tore through the crowd, quickly knocking Railet aside, and pinning him to the ground. Railet thrashed about violently, beginning to shake in anger.
"Get him under control! Now!" shouted one, a male, as he held Railet's arms in place, putting his knee on both to pin him down.
"Understood!" came the reply from another, a smaller person, obviously female from the voice. She pulled out what looked like a sticker, pulling it off and smacking it against the back of Railet's neck. He struggled further, though his actions began slowing down and his vision began to blur. Finally he collasped, head hitting the floor loud enough to make a slight echo. The third cloaked figure pulled out a smaller set of chains, attaching them to Railet's unconscious body before hauling him up and tossing him over his shoulder like a duffel bag. The three left, passing by Aurele, Zairu and Chiwi. None of them so much as glanced at the new students but merely continued their job. As they passed by, Aurele caught Railet's face, a look of slight pain graced his unconscious features, and his hair slung forward at they walked. The change in expression was frightening and he could only wonder how that would affect the two girls standing behind him....
"Ah... well..." he stuttered, trying to find the right thing to say, "Uhh. ! Oh yes! You two must be very tired. Allow me to show you to your rooms!" he paused, tapping the jewel once again to display what looked like a map.
"Chiwi, was it? You'll be in Dorm B.. Your room number is 713....And Zairu, right? You're in....!!" a look of shock took over Aurele's face before he recollected himself, "You're..in Dorm C....Room 324.....Right next to Railet....."

So basically, this place was going to be "home" for awhile. It would be the only place that would accept her and Chiwi as they were at the moment. Not that she was even considering going anywhere else; her mother and father would probably freak out...and oh, would Rukino find it in her power to blame this whole incident on her! She really couldn't blame Chiwi's sister for thinking that.
Zairu gave a small inward sigh as Aurele continued his spiel on how they would stay here until they were turned back to normal. How long would that exactly take? Considering the high technology she assumed went into this place, not to mention the enormity of it, this place had been going on for awhile. Had some of these people, some recognizable with their animal DNA pair while others could only be fathomed, been here all this time? If they had been here this long...would she and Chiwi share the same fate?
If only she hadn't frozen when that...that...she couldn't even call it human! Those eyes had terrified her to the core, rendering her unable to move. That had been her fatal flaw. Would things have been different if she hadn't frozen? If she had fought back harder? She shook that poisoning thought out of her head; they hadn't been human. They were something else...they had been designed for abducting people like her and Chiwi. If she had resisted too hard, they might have thought her expendable and killed her. Then Chiwi would have suffered this all alone. At least there was one familiar face in this multitude that Zairu could count on.
Breaking from her inner thoughts, she listened to Aurele as he passed by certain rooms and pointed out their functions. He might as well have given her a map! There were too many places to remember, too many new smells hitting her nose, too many sights of rooms and people alike. Her mind was still reeling in shock from the trauma she had just witnessed and this was becoming overwhelming! She hoped the locations of their rooms could be told to them soon so she could get rid of that place's obnoxious smell off of her! Hopefully, she and Chiwi would be right next to one another. She was surprised when Aurele suddenly stopped, and she felt more than saw his tension that had seeped into him. Completely perplexed, she looked to her right to see why he was so keen to go the opposite way.
She quickly learned his evident distress when a male went flying past them and crashed into the wall. What was he paired with? It looked like some kind of dog...a terrier, Zairu finally decided, and what or who had sent him flying like that?
Just like the terrier, this boy seemed to like to hear his own voice. He was extremely talkative for someone who had just been thrown against the wall. How was it pathetic with how much force had been put behind it? Better yet, who was he talking to? No one else was in their line of vision.
Her question was soon answered when the black-haired boy from before came bounding into view. Zairu stiffened when she saw the way he looked at the other boy, her arm immediately sticking out in front of her friend in case the fight got too ugly. It was quickly becoming that.
The boy's taunts seemed to have a negative effect of him, his eyes wide with a bone-chilling smirk as the chains and fabric keeping him confined were quickly being shredded. The sound of the metal hitting the floor made Zairu's newly-formed ears flatten against her head to try and keep the incessant, horrible sounding clang from reverberating in her ear drums. Soon, however, they were back up in full alert when she heard a crack of bone and a yelp of pain. How many times had she heard that when she had had to reset a bone? This time, however, it was the sound of bone being broken instead of being reset.
Zairu never understood what made people run to a scene of a disaster because there was soon a rush towards where they stood. Feathers, fur, skin, and hide were all jostled together as people tried to get a good look at what was going on. However, Zairu noted that a few that had been there before were trying to get through the crowd to get away. This startled her as she turned back to the scene in front of her; did this happen normally with these two? Or was it just the insanely dark energy being emitted from the boy she had only met perhaps an hour tops ago?
She winced as she saw painful way the boy had his arm; his shoulder was definitely dislocated to be able to be pulled to that position and the crack she had heard gave evidence that his arm was broken from the way it was angled. This tiger-boy, though, didn't seem to care. In fact, he seemed positively delighted at this turn of events. When he looked at them, Zairu felt sick to her stomach. There was no remorse in his features at all, only pure abandonment into his rage that he was inflicting.
Why anyone would consider jumping into stop him after the boy was flung aside like a ragdoll was beyond her, but soon there were two other boys being beaten mercilessly at this insane boy's hands. She gave a small gasp when she saw what he intended to do towards the last boy he held in his grasp, her other hand shooting out toward Aurele to grab him on his shoulder while she said frantically,
"He's going to snap his neck! You're like a partner with him, right!? Stop him!"
No sooner had those words left her mouth when three people seemed to answer. Clad fully in black, they quickly knocked him to side and pinned him to the floor, slapping something on the back of his neck that seemed to be slowing his movements. He was certainly not going without a fight, with the way he kept thrashing around, before finally going unconscious and his head hitting the floor. He was quickly chained and picked up by one of the black-claded figures and was being carted away, though he had to pass by her, Chiwi, and Aurele.
Her hand had left Aurele's shoulder, but her hand was still stuck out in front of Chiwi. This incident was not something she needed to see today, nor really any day, but this day was an extremely bad day to do a stunt like this! What was wrong with this person!? There something definitely dangerous about him, though why this was now making sense in her head she had no idea. You think the chains and jacket would have been warning enough! Besides, did that terrier-boy really say something to have warranted that brutal attack? She had a feeling that their rivalry was going to have more attacks like this...and she was scared she was going to witness one again.
Zairu had seen her amount of battles...but this one...oh, she hadn't seen one like that in so long it could have been just passed off as a nightmare. The raw energy, the primal urge to kill...it both excited and terrified her now. The animal DNA inside her screamed its delight while still human conscious within her abhord it. She didn't like it one bit and was rightfully shaken by the entire event.
She needed a room. Now.
Aurele seemed to have noticed the effect the entire situation had given the two girls, though he stuttered for a moment while he gathered his thoughts. For a brief instance, she wanted to strangle him. He should be used to this, shouldn't he!? When he finally continued, saying he would show them their rooms, Zairu visibly relaxed. Tapping on a jewel he had, he started to read off what looked like a map.
Okay...Chiwi was in Dorm B room 713 and Zairu was in...what? She was where? The look on his face was making her become tense again before he finally, though slowly, told her.
Dorm C room 324.
Railet? The look of shock had given her all the information she needed to know. Judging on his reaction, that tiger-boy was Railet. Lovely. She was next to one of the boys who had saved her, but that same boy also wore restraining chains and seemed to like to break people's arms and snap necks when freed from them.
Perfect.

Aurele sighed deeply, wondering to himself what was going through Kei's mind when he arranged the new room sceme. Honestly, he thought, No one should be allowed in the rooms near HIS room. It's a disaster waiting to happen. He quickly shook his head and looked at Chiwi.
"I'll show you where your room is, since we're in the same dorm. Zairu.... Um.." He paused, looking around at the students that passed by for someone he confided in. "Ah! Han! "
"Hmm?" was the response from a boy on the other end of the hall. A good look revealed he was a wolf half, and it wasn't until he walked up that it was evident how short he was. At least, compared to the three people he was standing in front of. He was a small boy with a thin frame, only 5'4" in height. His green eyes shown brilliantly in the flowing lights of the walls. A few stray reddish-brown bangs of hair hung in front of his eyes, but he casually pulled them back with the other strands.
" Would you mind doing me a favor and showing this young lady where dorm C is? " Aurele questioned, motioning towards Zairu with an open palm. Han gave a quick smile before looking up at Zairu, "Sure! Follow me!" and with that he set off in the direction of Dorm C, taking a left at the corner. He passed several intersections, and placed his palm on what looked like a stone slab with strange markings on it in the same familiar lights that pulsed through the walls. However, unlike the familiar lights she had just become accustomed to, these shown a bright red and at odd intervals pulsed green once before going back to red. This was perhaps the way to tell it was the door to dorm C, but this place was still too foreign to be sure.
After his palm was registered, a door cleared up through the stone-like wall, a rather thin, clear looking door that left a strange feeling in the body once you walked through. He paused, turning back to look at her.
"This is dorm C. Easiest way to find it is the follow the lights on the wall. If the wall pulses red in one direction, follow that and it'll lead you back here. To enter, you'll have to palm the door at the entrance though, but that isn't too hard to do. Need anything else?" It was at this point that Zairu would've noticed that she was able to understand him this whole time, despite being able to listen to him speak....in Korean. A language she was unfamiliar with. He smiled at her, waiting for a response to see if she needed anything else. Otherwise, he'd be out for the day....
Meanwhile, Aurele had lead Chiwi in the opposite direction towards dorm B. As they walked, Chiwi should've noticed the walls pulse a stronger and darker blue color after every two normal blue pulses. Aurele explained the purpose of it being to lead to dorm B for those people who get lost easily. He taught Chiwi the same things Zairu was learning on the other side, and once Chiwi was situated, he left to return to his duties. And perhaps check up on Railelt, who was probably now being held in a rehab session, which would usually end up with no progress except for a waste of their time.

Zairu had thought for a brief moment that Aurele was going to say that she was on her own when it came to finding her room. She was going to say the heck with that and crash in Chiwi's room. It would be much better than being roomed next to a potential psychotic who might walk into her room and murder her in her sleep! That fear soon subsided when Aurele called out towards another person named Han. Han looked a little younger than her and was five inches shorter than her. Well, she was one of the taller women that she had ever encountered. Han came up to her chin so she had to tilt her head slightly down to look at him in the eye.
Under normal circumstances, she would have smiled and said hi to him, but seeing as how these weren't normal circumstances, she attempted a weak smile, but otherwise just stared at him. Zairu really didn't want to part with Chiwi at the moment, since Chiwi was the only person she really knew. Sure, these people had probably gone through the same things she and Chiwi had gone through, but she didn't know them. This inability to trust new faces was a trait she had buried long ago and it was rearing its ugly head during this trying time. She looked at Chiwi for support, forcing to not give into the newfound urge to whimper. However, Chiwi only gave her an encouraging smile and did a small shooing moment.
Well, Zairu had to admit defeat. Her fate was sealed with this person named Han.
She only listened with half an ear to Han as they walked towards Dorm C, her attention coming to full focus when the seemingly solid wall turned out to be a hidden doorway. It was a weird feeling to walk through the transparent thing, but seeing as how Han wasn't affected by it, she'd probably get used to it after a couple times. Now something was making her feel a little off. She was understanding Han in everything he said, but it was way he was saying it that seemed off, like if they were talking in another place, she wouldn't be able to understand him.
It finally hit her. He was speaking Korean! When the heck had she taken a Korean language course!? Never in her life! Was she going crazy!? Maybe during her transformation, she had hit her head in a frenzy to get off that awful steel table. The imprints of the cuffs were still visible beneath the dried blood, not pulsing anymore, but an angry red.
"How...am I able to understand you?" She asked, looking him dead in the eye, shocking green against gold, "I shouldn't be able to. I don't know how to speak Korean..."

Han paused for a minute, placing his legs together and crossing his arms in a fashion that seemed to have a slight mocking tone as his head tilted a little to the side. He smirked, obviously enjoying the feeling of knowing something that she didn't. His moment of glory was soon ruined as one of the upper-classman walked past, patting him on the head and ruffling his hair until it was quite messy.
"Han! Don't forget you got cleaning duty today! Mess up and it'll be your hyde!" he shouted as he walked past, yet another student who spoke in another language. It was obvious, however, from the markings, ears and tail that he was from a tropical climate. Possibly from an area in South or Central America. Or rather....what remained of Central America......
It took a few seconds for Han to recover his deflated ego, as he quietly stood back a bit from Zairu, trying to retain what was left of his pride while he fixed his hair. When he finished, he looked up at her, muling over his words carefully.
"So....you want to know why we can understand each other? " he paused to make sure she was paying attention before continuing. "Well, I dunno if you noticed or not, but on one of your ears there should be a small earring. Well, it's not really an earring but it's...kinda like one. " he paused to take in a few tufts of air.
"It's a device that's automatically formed onto our ears when we first arrive here. Most people here don't know how it works, just that it lets people speak their native language and others would understand. Pretty useful don't cha think?....I think...I think it was created by the headmaster of this place... From what I know, he's really smart." he finished, placing his hands behind his head with a smile.
"But enough of that! I'm sure you're tired. So I'll show you where your room is. Maybe later we can have lunch together sometime. I think you're in the same class as me, so later I can show you around the school portion of this place....Oh! " He exclaimed, walking to her and grabbing her hand while his other reached in his pocket. He placed a small blue-colored gem in her hand before stepping back.
"That's to communicate with me. I'm sure you're familiar with em. " he smiled, walking away from her to show her where her room was. He then returned to his duties in the hall.
((finally got around to doing this T____T Sorry it isn't long.))

Despite all that had happened, the thought of 'cute' passed through her head as Han straightened up in supposed senority that he had over her. She guessed he didn't have a lot of times when he could say he knew more than others. How sad that it was crushed in an instant by another resident of the institution; someone who was speaking in another different language. Whatever it was, she could understand it, and that made her all the more curious as to how she was suddenly multilingual.
She waited quietly as he recovered from the attack and listened intently as he started to explain, her hands moving up to find the said 'earring' that she soon found was on her left ear. Zairu hadn't even noticed it! Strange since her senses seemed to have been heightened, but then again, there was a lot stronger stimuli her than a little earring. Her curiosity as to how she could understand others was sated, though, so that was one less thing to worry about.
"I guess he'd have to be to make such a place." Zairu commented on the headmaster, wondering what he looked like. Probably some old geezer in a lab coat...and how she hated lab coats now. A small frown appeared on her face at the thought, but she quickly wiped it away as Han showed her where her room was.
"Thank you, Han." She said, trying to give a smile as best she could, "Yes, I'm familiar with these. I'll talk to you later. Thank you for showing me around and answering my questions."
She looked toward the door that was to be her room and gave a deep breath. She couldn't help, but look to either side and wonder which room was that crazy boy's room. Well, she could figure that out later. Right now, she needed to go inside and look around. That's what she'd wanted, right? A room to go and contemplate on everything that had happened up until now. She only wished that it had been with Chiwi; she would've loved sharing a room, but it seemed everyone had their own. It was cool in that regard, but at the moment, company was much more preferred to privacy.
The door slide open and she walked inside, amazed at the sheer size of it. She'd been expecting enough space for just a bed and desk, but she was stepping first into a living space. It wasn't very decorated, but at least it was furnished somewhat. There seemed to also be a small kitchen in the corner, but it didn't look like it had been used very often. She guessed there was a mess hall of some sort within the institution that the people normally ate at. A bedroom was her next stop and she was glad to see it was furnished as well. She found that clothes had already been laid out on the bed, something that made her feel a little more welcomed in this place. Looking around, she opened a door that seemed larger than the others and found a bathroom. This was a nice surprise, but the other surprise wasn't that nice. She was finally seeing exactly what she looked like; how had Han not freaked out at her appearance? Desheveled white hair was smeared with blood, along with the rest of her body. What wasn't splashed in red was splashed in the dizzying black patterns that even ran along her face, although not as much. Her eyes scared her too; they were alert and wild, seeming to vibrate as if she were a bow strung too tight and ready to snap. Zairu had to look away, locking on to the shower that seemed to call to her to become clean. Off went the lab dressings and into the shower she went, staying there for at least a good half-hour scrubbing insanely at her skin, hair...and now a tail which seemed to have a mind of its own. Oh, this was going to be hard to get used to...
Finally emerging, she went for the clothes that had been laid out and was immediately set against them. She was used to baggy clothing and these were too fitted for her tastes. They showed off her entire body, it seemed like, and Zairu wasn't too keen on that idea. However, it wasn't like she had any other options as she rummaged through the dresser. The clothes were all the same in terms of size.
So not only am I freak now, but I have to revealing clothing? Oh, just great... She fumed, sitting down on the bed as she combed out the tangles in her hair and then braiding it. Just sitting on the bed reminded her body how exhausted she was and it didn't take long after she'd finished doing anything that she was curled up on the comforter. Sleep was welcomed and she dreamt of nothing, which was a relief. She had no doubt she would have otherwise been plagued by at least one nightmare.
[[Took over a year, but FINALLY! Sheesh, I suck!]]

Elsewhere a sneeze ran through the room.
"Ah...Excuse me. Someone...must be talking about me... Is that how the rumor goes?" a young man in a lab coat said with a small smile on his face. His eyes betrayed a feeling of sadness that contrasted sharply with his smile. He moved a blue bang out of the way, looking over at his companion.
" So...What do you say? Do we....have a deal?"
A pale shadow stood near the doorway, looking over at this young scientist and nodded.
"If it will get me what I want, I don't care what happens." the shadow steps forward into the light, revealing itself as Railet.
"Deal."
-------
Time passed by for what felt like an eternity for Railet, who was trying to make it to his room. He had been released and was under influence of medicine they had given him. The rooms spun around him as he slowly made his way back to the dorm.
He was tired, tired enough that he swore he'd sleep for weeks on end if they let him. He could barely stand by the time he reached the dormitory.
"Just....a little...more" he told himself mentally, using the wall as a crutch. He counted the doors as he passed them, seeing as how his vision was blurred to the point where he couldn't read numbers. The pain killers were starting to wear off and he still hadn't found his room.
He had to stop, it was hurting too much. But he wouldn't; he kept going until he had reached his door. The door slid open to allow him access....just as he reached his limit and collapsed in the doorway with a thud. It was late, no one would hear him. Well, his neighbor would.... But honestly, who was crazy enough to help him?
He laid there for what seemed like hours, awake but paralyzed on the floor. He could tell he was bleeding, he could smell it. At first he tried to crawl through, but couldn't move a muscle towards it.
"This is pathetic" he thought, "I can't even get back to my room anymore on my own...."
"I guess.....I'll just wait it out..I shouldn't be paralyzed too much longer.....I hope..."

The sound of a heavy thud made Zairu's eyes snap open as soon as it reached her ears. They twitched (which was weird, if she thought about it), straining to hear where the noise had come from. It hadn't been in her dorm, it was still too muffled for that, but it was close. If she could pinpoint the exact location, she'd have to say not even two feet outside her door. Was it time for others to get up? Pushing herself up into a sitting position, she looked at the clock and saw that it was very late at night. Just how long had she been sleeping? She hadn't bothered to check the clock before she had drifted off and she wasn't sure how long she'd been within that Noikero compound.
Curiosity of the noise had completely grabbed her attention and she finally moved from the bed to make her way to the door and find out what had happened in the hallway. At first, it didn't seem anything was out of the ordinary as she looked to one side, but as she turned to face the other direction, a smell hit her nose that was familiar to her. Both from the time this crazy event had been set into motion to way back when she still worked with Dr. Jun in the hospital.
Blood.
It wasn't that hard to find out exactly where it had come from; the perpetrator's feet could be seen stuck out from his doorway. What the heck had happened to him? She stood there for a moment, actually having to think if she wanted to go over there and see what the damage.
Hippocratic oath, dumbass! No matter who it is! She scolded herself as she thought about it, though she had to prepare herself before softly walking over. He'd violently attacked others early, so who was to say that he wouldn't attack her? She knew how to defend herself, but he had seemed to know actual martial arts, something she'd never touched on. Oh, come on! He helped save you earlier and you're going to leave him on the floor? Get going!
She approached and could hear him breathing, so he wasn't dead, but he seemed unusually stiff. Had he been given something that restricted his movements? That, combined with the smell of blood, probably explained why he was laying here on the floor instead of in his bed.
"Hey..." She said softly, "Are you awake?"
Kneeling beside him, she saw that his eyes were wide open...and staring at her. She had to blink a couple times to keep looking at him, with what the intensity his eyes had, "Okay, you definitely are. Ummm...why don't I get you off the floor?"
No answer, but that could work to her advantage. At least he wasn't cursing at her and telling her to get lost. She might've been freaked out enough to do that and leave him on the floor. She hoped she wasn't grabbing anything extremely painful as she started to pick him up, finally getting enough of a hold to put his arm around her neck while her free arm snaked along his back to bring support on the other side.
She hadn't been expecting him to be so heavy! Despite his lean frame, he definitely wasn't a light-weight. Zairu had to keep herself from falling forward from the sudden shift in weight by taking a few stumbling steps forward.
"S-sorry...didn't meant to jostle you." She muttered, focusing on getting him to at least a chair. Anything would be softer than the floor at this point. Finally finding a suitable place to sit him down, she positioned him into the chair and stepped back a little. Now to do something about the blood...
"I probably don't look it," She began, "But I worked in a hospital before...well, coming here. I could help get you bandaged up if you tell me where your medical supplies are. Bathroom? Kitchen? Room? Or would you rather I call for the medical wing?"
She hoped he had the strength to nod at one of her suggestions, if not say one word.
